who we are

SCHIP, Inc. is an acronym for Shelburne, Charlotte and Hinesburg Interfaith Projects

SCHIP was formed in 2003 as a 501(c)(3) organization of local faith communities. We work together to raise funds for grants to improve our neighbors' lives and strengthen our communities. Funds are generated by selling items donated locally to SCHIP Upscale Resale. Over $967,000 in grants have been made from store proceeds to support food shelves, emergency aid, community projects, education, health, and welfare needs.

Who we help

Many people have wondered who we help and what kind of help we provide. We give monetary grants. The association/ organization receiving the grant must be another nonprofit that helps improve the lives of those living in Shelburne, Charlotte, and Hinesburg communities.

We award grants twice a year. So far, SCHIP's grants supported over 140 organizations in the past; see the list below.
